David Kvale

David is a data engineer with a background in data and AI consulting, primarily within banking and finance. He joined Glitni in August 2026 from BearingPoint, where he worked on modernising data platforms and data warehouses. Today he works with data platform and analytics on Databricks at a Norwegian health tech company.

At one of Norway’s largest banking alliances, David was part of the team that moved the data warehouse to Snowflake and dbt. He set up dbt projects in a data mesh structure, established best practices and built shared macros that let domain teams work independently with their own data. He was also a driving force for infrastructure as code in the data domain.

David thrives at the intersection of data engineering and analytics engineering. For a Nordic financial services company he built an external reporting solution from scratch, using Power BI Embedded with row-level security, which today gives the company’s clients direct insight into their own portfolios. He has also built an MLOps solution with generative AI that drafts responses for customer service agents in the public transport sector.

David holds a Master of Science in Engineering and ICT from NTNU, along with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Outside work you’ll find him on the football pitch, on skis, or over a chessboard.
