OK. It took some effort to secure projects for everyone. Decision-making processes take time, after all. But it ended well.

So, a summary of the emotional rollercoaster after the summer:

  1. hooray, we are getting two new consultants on board!
  2. followed by: a bit worried that the two newcomers will get tired of certifications…
  3. and then: great that we are sold out - and have the coolest projects in the world!

We accomplished a lot in the second half of 2022. Here are our highlights:

We have new clients in new industries

We continued in retail with 3 clients, and also added a bank and a research organisation to our client list. We are fortunate to have so many great clients to work with.

At our clients, we have served as:

  • project managers for the implementation of a new data platform
  • architect for the implementation of a new data platform
  • data platform developers and architects
  • advisor on organisation and processes around a new data platform
  • advisor on master data and data governance

More of us have gained experience with Snowflake

We have worked across technologies and architectural patterns - and strive to advise on what is best for our clients. Right now, the patterns we work most with are data lakehouse and organisational approaches like data mesh. It was mostly Azure, Databricks and dbt in the first half of 2022, but we also added Snowflake in the second half.

We have entered into several technology partnerships

We have been diligent here - 4 partnerships in place after the summer! Quite an active bunch, this group. We have become service partners with Snowflake, dbt, Databricks and Google Cloud this half-year, which required some late evenings to obtain the right certifications. We are aiming to land the Microsoft partnership soon as well.

We need more talented people

We have grown to 6 consultants, and we are in the process of recruiting more now that everyone has relevant and rewarding projects. We are currently roughly equally balanced between advisory profiles and technical architects/senior developers, but we see that the platform developer role is the one we should hire for first. We are pushing hard to sign 2 talented people before the winter break, and we believe we can do it.

We are looking forward to a cabin trip next year

We have had breakfasts, pleasant dinners and tried padel. Next half-year, we are aiming for a conference abroad and perhaps a cabin trip as well. Not least, we have worked a lot together on projects. We are committed to selling as a team, and that is especially important when not everyone knows each other well from before.

We are seeing returns on our visibility efforts

We continued to be fairly active on LinkedIn and Glitni.no. And it was wonderful that TINE, whom we do a lot of work for, made it to the finals of the Insight Award! Possibly the highlight of the year, even though we did not win.

Suddenly, more people we spoke with had already heard of us, and more enquiries came in by phone and email from potential clients who wanted to talk with us. And even more salespeople discovered us. Marketing works!

A new gathering place

Administrative matters have settled in, and most things are now in order. The big move on the admin side was that we relocated from Mesh to Spaces, right by Tinghuset, where we now have our own office! It is wonderful to have a gathering place where we can all sit together, and also be sure that screens and such work properly. The interior design committee is now working at full speed.

Good news from the CFO

The first financial year with 11 months of operations produced a bottom line that provides confidence for further growth. At least, that is what CFO Troyel reported. We are betting that the auditor agrees.

It ended well. But we are not finished - we are looking forward to the rest of 2023!
